Model UN

Model United Nations is where participants play the role of country representatives and debate real world topics, bringing the policies and perspectives of their assigned country. 

Conferences allow students from many universities to connect, socialise and engage in real world issues from unique perspectives. 

 

Organised by the University of Glasgow Model United Nations Society, this years conference will be hosted at our Main Gilmorehill Campus from the 4th-6th April 2025.

Objectives

  • ​Adopt a resolution that addresses the debate topic and creates long-term peace, or a positive outcome for the most nations.

  • Ensure through diplomacy and debate that the resolution is passed and that nations' have their interests heard.

  • Gain an understanding and insight into structural debate, and the inner workings of the United Nations.

  • Develop key 21st century skills in public speaking, communication, teamwork, and leadership.

  • Create a positive and helpful social space for students to meet and network with people from all over the world.
