The Secretariat
The working minds behind the conference are the Secretariat. They importantly plan everything involved with the conference, committees and delegates. They also ensure that everyone has a fun and smooth experience at the conference (and at the socials!).

Secretary-General
Sophie Rawlinson
Sophie has been doing Model UN for nearly two years now and has thoroughly enjoyed all the conferences she’s been too. Despite not having a lot of experience she hit the ground running and for better or for worse has gained a reputation! She notoriously makes too many trips to London and is basically writing her degree in absentia due to what some might call an overcommitment to MUN - however she believes that is blasphemy. Often seen teaching others how to Split the G, or promoting another ridiculous Peace Summit, she well and truly cannot wait for GlasMUN! She cannot wait to meet you all and see you again at GlasMUN in April.

Deputy Secretary-General of Events
Esmé Douglas
-
Esmé is our DSG Events Coordinator who’s main job is making sure the Conference and Socials run smoothly & are enjoyable. Oh and her second job is making sure the Secretary General is in check… someone should really start paying her… She has been doing MUN since her first conference at GlasMUN last year where she was able to bring back the death penalty to pedophiles in our House of Commons committee. When not being a MUN nerd you can find her wild camping in the highlands with her dad or spending far too much with her flatmates, they are absolutely inseparable. She is so excited to meet you all and cannot wait to introduce you all to her favourite city in the world, besides Newcastle of course :)

Deputy Secretary-General of Finance
Joshua Cassim
-
Josh is our DSG Finances and has been to far more MUN conferences then he would like to admit and has been part of our conference & society since his first year of university (although he’d rather die then admit it). Outside of MUN you can often find him being a stereotypical Canadian playing ice hockey and raving about ‘proper maple syrup’ or getting another license to add to his collection. He is looking forward to welcoming you all to our conference. But don’t try to text him… he’ll respond in about five days.

Under-Secretary-General of Academics
Euan Davies
G’day, my name is Euan and I am a second year Economics student. I have been doing MUN for too long, but what can I say? It seems once you start, you cannot leave. When I’m not being the Training Officer for the GlasMUN society, I enjoy playing board games, and rumor has it I’m a Beach Lifeguard. As your USG Academics, it’s my pleasure to introduce you to all the brilliant chairs and topics that we have at GlasMUN 2025!

Under-Secretary-General of Welfare
Sean Bradley
Sean was born and grew up in the East End of our great city of Glasgow. He is the first in his family to study at the University. His MUN experience began 2 years ago with GlasMUN House of Commons and he hasn’t looked back since becoming a fully fledged MUN nerd and a veteran of 6 conferences in 2 continents. When not in committee he can be found watching football, talking about football and thinking deeply about how his beloved Celtic can finally reach the next round in the Champions League. Oh and has anyone told you he is the President of the F1 Society at the University? He very rarely mentions it.

Under-Secretary-General of Senior Communications
Caitlin Tyacke
-
Caitlin is our resident young girl from Essex and a recent MUN 365 party girl, having been indoctrinated by our Secretary General into the MUN World this year. Her greatest passions in MUN include editing our members into (slightly cursed) tiktoks when we’re debatin’ that, procrastinating university with MUN work, and getting to talk talk with everyone! Outside of MUN she loves to sew, go hiking, and go out for some club classics.

Under-Secretary-General of Media and Publicity
James Smith
-
Although James has been doing MUN since secondary school, he still brings a creative edge to almost every angle of the society. From underwater capitalist socieites set up by Javier Milei, to being roughed up as Santa Claus, James is very committed to keeping Model UN unique, fun and enjoyable for everyone. Expect many memes, terrible dad jokes and crazy hijinks to show up on the conference instagram while he’s about, before inevitably he gets assassinated by the rest of the secretariat for his crimes against brainrot.

Under-Secretary-General of Delegate Affairs
Matthew Ferguson
Hailing the green pastures of southwest Scotland, Matthew has quickly become an “icon” of the society since he joined just over a year ago. When he’s not shouting about penguins taking over the world, Matthew can be found walking his lovely dog Cassie or quietly doing law work he’s been putting off to do MUN. He looks forward to meeting you all when you arrive in April!

Under-Secretary-General of Logistics
Urvi Jain
-
Introducing Urvi, our USG Logistics, who has been immersed in the MUN circuit since her high school days and cherishes every moment of it! Renowned as a professional yapper, she thrives on meeting new people and ignites every conversation with her infectious enthusiasm. Rumour has it she talks too much, but she insists that’s just part of her charm. So, don’t hesitate and be ready for an engaging dynamic exchange cause she’ll keep things interesting ;)
